Parlez-vous Francais?
This week, I will be mostly listening to my new ear worms french CD. This has 200+ essential words and phrases anchored into your long term memory with great music, or so it claims! I'm hoping by the end of the week, I will at least be able to speak a smattering of French - here's hoping anyway!

Good Luck! I will be interested in how well this works as I have learning French on my list as well and need to get a start on it.
Forgive my American-ness, but I guess I was under the assumption that everyone in Europe could already speak several different languages. At least, that's why everyone seems to give us such a hard time for only knowing English. (I'm, of course, just teasing. Besides, its so difficult to learn another language when whenever we've traveled internationally, everyone already spoke English!)
Dion - had my first faster today and I will have to put some serious time aside for this one - it's very taxing on the brain!
Jessica - unfortunately us Brits are famous for not speaking more than one language. when we are abroad we find by talking slowly and loudly helps the person understand!
I find it hard enough trying to understand anyone north of Winchester in England, let alone learn another language lol.
Good luck!
Tim - ha ha! I have trouble understanding broad Notts so I'm not expecting miracles!
Broad Notts: examples. Derbeh, Satdeh, Wensdeh, parteh, gereretraceh!!
Bonne chance!
The sad thing is that I understand that!
Hope you are managing to absorb some French. I must say, i do admire anyone who can learn another language. I did French at school from when I was 7 until 15, & I still failed my 'O' level dismally.
Not going too great at the moment I'm afraid probably as I haven't the time to dedicate to it at present - perhaps one I need to look at in the New Year.
I took Spanish in school but I would like to learn more. In fact, it's one of the goals on my list. I've taught myself some basic Italian and ASL as well.
That's pretty commendable - I figured I would learn French as that's the language I would most likely use. Thought I was doing ok until I spoke to someone that had read novels in Spanish and French at my book club yesterday!
