An Update...

Well apart from having the week from hell this week, which involved me being back in Nottingham and for part of the week my car being in Solihull (won't go in to it, but it was all to do with a well know break down service and their lack of customer service) I am still attempting to learn French! I am finding it pretty difficult due to the fact that I have the memory capacity of a goldfish, but I'm hoping the more I listen to the disc, the more will sink in. So far I know how to order a coffee, tea and beer, none of which I drink...

I can relate. I'm studying Spanish right now and I currently can say My Name Is and the boy is under the airplane. Not much help so far! Good luck!

I'm so jealous of people that just learn languages, that just sink into their brains. I've tried memorizing, immersion and it just doesn't stick. But I guess you just gotta keep at it!

I'm sorry you had such a bad week-hope all gets better!

When it comes to languages, I have the memory of a goldfish as well :( I've taken a year of Spanish and Italian...and I can't remember a thing.

Sorry about your week from hell :( But I hope French becomes easier for you!

C'est tres facile! Dit apres moi. Je ne veut pas du cafe, du tea terible ou un bier pas ce que je ne l'aime pas. Si vous plais, je prefer de la viande. Je l'aime!

S' dead easy duck. Say after me. I dunna want no coffee, no pants tea and beer is shit. I don't get on with them at all. I would very much prefer some meat old fruit. I love it!

No probs.

Thanks Kassie, it's reassuring to know that someone else struggles with learning a new language too! And as for you Mr Show Off Lowe, well...

I admire your perseverance - I'm hopeless at French, just don't have the knack for languages. Though Steve often says if we ever went abroad I'd soon learn to speak a foreign language simply because I'm always talking - & the effort of not knowing what people were on about would soon make me learn!

Karen - determined to get something new out of this learning experience but don't think I will be able to string many sentances together when I've finished!
