The Last Six...

This week I've been mostly Christmas present wrapping, colour chart perusing (we are getting decorated) and eating Halloween sweets that were meant for the trick or treaters. I seriously think I've eaten so much sugar I don't know what day it is! Therefore reading has gone by the by, as my concentration levels resemble that of a goldfish at present.

I now only have six books to go before I complete this task and yes you guessed it, they are all tombs of books, with the lightest one weighing in at around 600 pages approx. But now that they are sat on my desk staring at me, with Mr Bump keeping a close eye on them, here lies a mini challenge in itself - how quickly can I read all of these? I want to read them properly, to give myself some sort of satisfaction at completing such a huge task and I want to be realistic about it. So I figured, end of November should do it? My to be read pile of 'ordinary' books is calling to me, so that will spur me on, hopefully... I'll keep you updated!

I suggest you start with the Raymond E Feist novel JJ. Easy to read and well written. It is the first in the 'Riftwar' series, all worth a delve into along with the 'Empire' series, of which I must re-read sometime

I think I've scheduled that for week 3 - I figured I'll finish owen meany off and then a couple of hefty ones then I'll be ready for a hopefully light read!

I found that The Godfather was super easy to read and went really fast if that helps! :)

Of those, I've only ready Owen Meany and Midnight's Children. I don't know if you've read Rushdie before, but after you get used to his "magical realism" and just resign yourself to it, the book can be a fast read. Good luck! Most of the books in my pile are long ones too...or ones that I've started and just can't get into.

Things To Do - yes I've scheduled The Godfather in for this week as it seemed an easy read (nice thick type I can read quickly!)

Jessica - thanks for the pre warning on Rushdie - I'm intrigued as I've never read any of his books before!
