The Things That You Do...

I did something extremely embarrassing on Friday and I wasn't even drunk. You have to understand, before you read any further, that I got a little carried away with the situation, got a little bit giddy when I heard. Let me explain further...

I watch The One Show most days - it usually ties in quite nicely with when we are sitting down for tea and well, a bit of background accompaniment, never hurt, did it? Anyway, I was quite happily watching Friday's episode, when right at the end of the show, they announced next weeks guests.

I was shocked, stunned, surprised and any other word I can think of, that begins with the letter S - Mr T was going to be one of their guests for the following week.

Fate, I thought, definitely fate and I grabbed my laptop and immediately sent an email off to the BBC, explaining about my list and my blog and how I had to, just had to meet him. I got the following reply.

Thank you for your email to The ONE Show regarding our guest Mr. T. Unfortunately, we cannot ask our guests for any special favours, as they are doing us one by gracing us with their presence! We are inundated with thousands of similar requests and we would do nothing else all day.The team would like to send their best wishes to you and your family, and wish you the best of luck with your list.We really appreciate you taking the time to contact us and we hope you enjoy the show. Tune in Monday to Friday at 7 o'clock on BBC One for The ONE Show.

So unfortunately my 'Jim'll Fix It' type approach didn't work! Oh well, I guess that task will stay uncompleted for a little while longer!

Ian always says "If you don't ask, you don't get" so it was a good try.How about trying to get in touch with his PA/Manager in the UK?

Good effort, you never no so nice one for trying.

Have you seen you can get Mr. T for your GPS. I got him on mine the other week. It is from a site called Navtones. They do real celebrity voices for GPS. Mr. T is one of their voices and maybe this would be a good fix for you. i think its navtones.com

Good luck!

Hey JJ!!!!! How are you?

I am gutted that the BBC didn't invite you in, so that you could sit on Mr T's lap. But it was worth the try.

Sorry I have been AWOL for so long. I do hope you are well and enjoying things. I need to catch up with things and read through some of your recent posts.

Speak soon,

Graham :)

Biker Ted - I've got no idea who it is, otherwise I would (goes off to sulk in a corner..)
Annoymous - no I didn't know you can get Mr T on sat nav! Will have to investigate that one - I know you can get a Dr Who one, where Daleks come up on the screen!
Tony - Yes no problem in linking it to my blog!
Getty72 - Hello stranger! Was going to email you again, but didn't want to turn into your internet stalker! I am well and hanging in there, will email you with my address!

That's not embarressing! It would have been silly not to even try. You are lucky to even have got a response from the one show - I tried to get them to consider doing something for my charity's campaign week and they never evenhad the decency to reply to my email!

Tabby - I'm sure they only felt sorry for me, that's why they replied!

Ahh...bummer! I would have gone down there any stood outside for him to go in the building. Then said Mr. T I am your biggest fan and told your story (I mean, I'm sure he would have been flattered) to him.

Tami - unfortunatley the studio was in London and I'm in Nottingham with no more holiday entitlement from work, otherwise I would have been the number one Mr T stalker, don't you worry!

Oh, ok...just making sure you have your priorities straight! LOL
